William Foster
President • Community and Parent Representative
William Foster is a Private Wealth Advisor with RISE Private Wealth Management and a dedicated parent in the Sulphur Springs community. He joined CLASS to ensure that every student has access to enriching programs that spark curiosity and growth. William brings his financial expertise and community perspective to help the Foundation make a meaningful impact. Outside of CLASS, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter (a Valley View Student).
Laura Patterson
Vice President • Mental Health and Parent Representative,
Laura Patterson is a parent and community advocate with over 25 years of experience in mental health, currently serving as Senior Director of Policy and New Initiatives at Sycamores, a nonprofit supporting children, families, and adults. She joined CLASS to emphasize the critical role of mental health and social-emotional learning in education, helping students thrive academically and personally. Outside of CLASS, Laura enjoys spending time with her daughter, hiking, practicing yoga, and traveling.
Jerry Danielsen
Board Member • Community and Arts Representative
Jerry Danielsen is a music producer, recording engineer, and author who has composed for feature films and television, written three books, and earned both a Gold Record and a Signal Award. A former member of the College of the Canyons Board of Trustees, he joined CLASS to support arts and education programs that foster creativity, connection, and inspiration across the district. Outside of CLASS, Jerry continues to create music, write, and mentor emerging artists in the community.
Shelley Weinstein
Founding Board Member
Shelley Weinstein has served on the Sulphur Springs Union School District Board of Trustees since 2003, including six terms as president, and is a founding member of CLASS. She joined the Foundation to expand opportunities for all students across the district. Before her years in education leadership, she held senior roles at Security Pacific Corporation, coordinated events for the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, and worked at College of the Canyons. Outside of CLASS, she enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren and advocating for educational excellence.
Desiree Dodd
Treasurer • Community and Parent Representative
Desiree Dodd has over 20 years of experience in philanthropy and currently serves as the Director of Development and Engagement at the College of the Canyons Foundation, supporting fundraising and student success initiatives. Her background includes leadership roles at CSUN, Junior Achievement of Southern California, and the American Red Cross, where she developed expertise in donor relations and community engagement. Desiree joined CLASS to help enhance educational opportunities through strategic philanthropy and partnerships. She lives in Canyon Country with her husband, Mike, and their daughter.
