Did you know that in 2020 in the United States, there was a suicide every 11 minutes?  This month being National Suicide Prevention month, CLASS foundations wants to share a few valuable resources to our community.

We wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the 988 lifeline, this is a new number to call or text for support if you or a loved one is feeling suicidal or experiencing mental health related distress.  Trained counselors are available for confidential emotional support and crisis counseling.  See the attached video to learn more about the 988 lifeline and what to expect if you call for support.

College of the Canyons is also hosting a powerful presentation on September 13th on the power of showing up Kevin Berthia shares his personal experience of the day he planned to take his life on the Golden Gate bridge until police officer Kevin Briggs asked him to wait and connected with him and offered hope.  See attached flyer for more details.
